Acknowledgments

Thank you for taking the time to visit the Camillus History website! This site was built as part of my Girl Scout Gold Award Project which I worked on from 2020 to 2022. The Gold Award is the highest award you can earn. I have been a Girl Scout since kindergarten and the Gold Award was my final large-scale community service project.

I decided to create a website highlighting the best parts of Camillus because growing up I learned little about the Erie Canal and Camillus' origin despite living here for most of my life. Although there is the main Town of Camillus website that provides useful information to residents, I wanted to make an up-to-date, accessible, interesting platform to educate those who live here or want to know more about my town's history.

I would like to thank my fellow Girl Scouts -- Heidi, Sara, Leah, Anita, and Emily -- for supporting and helping me to review the site; Will, for helping me with photos and support; Mary Ann Coogan, the former Town supervisor; John Fatcheric, the current Town supervisor; Emily McPeak, for assisting with the lesson plan; Maxwell Memorial librarians; Carol Hamilton-Knowles; and my parents Jon and Megan Glass for the constant support and editing help. I appreciate each and every person who has assisted and added to my journey to my Gold Award.
